Archie Comics and IDW Publishing plan to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the company. In 2016, IDW will release eight comics with covers that showcase characters from the Archie Comics universe.
The full list of comics include Back to the Future, Empire, Jem & The Holograms, Judge Dredd, Star Trek, Transformers, The X-Files, and Angry Birds. Seven artists from the Archie Comics team have signed on to create the designs for these special issues.
IDW President Greg Goldstein gave this statement in the press release: “Archie Comics’ contribution to the world of pop culture is staggering. They publish one of the most important and iconic brands in history and they do it in a way that makes EVERYONE smile. IDW is pleased and proud to celebrate this milestone with these classic characters with covers that pay tribute to Archie’s special history.”
