Andrew Young and Henry Paulson Books Featured on Good Morning America

gmalogo.jpgLast year celebrities took all the big book deals. In 2010, political books seem to be dominating the field. Today, John Edwards’ adviser Andrew Young and former Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. discussed their books on Good Morning America–dishing gossip for political junkies.

Young talked about the toughest decisions he made during Edwards’ doomed candidacy for president–including the campaign’s decision to deny paternity of his mistress’ child. Young’s segment is embedded below. Last year we reported on controversy over Young’s book proposal. Paulson, on the other hand, provides a first-hand look inside the White House as the nation’s economy crumpled under his watch–another gripping, tragic story.

Here’s a breathless excerpt from Paulson’s book. That video segment is embedded after the jump: “Do they know it’s coming, Hank?” President Bush asked me. ‘Mr. President,” I said, “we’re going to move quickly and take them by surprise. The first sound they’ll hear is their heads hitting the floor.’ It was Thursday morning, September 4, 2008, and we were in the Oval Office of the White House discussing the fate of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the troubled housing finance giants.”
