Penguin International president Andrew Phillips has been named the next CEO of Author Solutions, the self-publishing business purchased by Penguin.

He will start in July. Current CEO Kevin Weiss “will leave to take up a new position which will be announced separately next week.”

A number of publishing promotions were also announced this week…

Dana Trombley has been promoted to senior manager within HarperCollins’ digital marketing department. She will oversee initiatives for titles published by the Avon, Voyager, and Impulse imprints.

Over at Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, two promotions have been made within its publicity department. Nicole Russo now holds the title of deputy publicity director. In the past, Russo has managed campaigns for many high profile authors including Cassandra Clare, Ellen Hopkins, and Hilary Duff. Lydia Finn will serve as publicist. Some of the authors she has worked with include Jenny Han, Keith Baker, and Dr. Jill Biden.

Two changes have also been made to the Little, Brown editorial team. Laura Tisdel moves up to senior editor. Two of her most recent projects include We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo and The Unknowns by Gabriel Roth. Ben George has been named senior editor. Prior to this development, he worked as an editor at Penguin Group (USA)’s Viking imprint. Both editors will report to editor-in-chief Judy Clain.
