Writer Andrew Goldman has been suspended for four weeks at The New York Times Magazine following comments he made to novelist Jennifer Weiner. The paper has issued more specific guidelines for using social media.

Times public editor Margaret Sullivan wrote about Goldman’s Twitter comments last week, citing our Storify record and literary blogger Edward Champion‘s coverage of the incident.

Times Magazine editor Hugo Lindgren had this comment: “In light of his recent comments on Twitter, Andrew will not be contributing the Talk column to the Magazine for four weeks, beginning Oct. 28. He’ll be back with the column after that.”
