…And They Did It With Expert Timing

Actually, we know that there’s no active, collaborative synergy between the NYTBR and the daily Times literary coverage, but it’s still quite impressive that this morning’s Arts section features a Chip McGrath profile of Robert Stone the day before the Review devotes the front page of this weekend’s issue to Stone’s memoir, Prime Green. That review wasn’t online when I went to bed last night (gotta stay on top of these things, Timesmen!), but you can be certain that Walter Kirn loved the book, even more than Michiko Kakutani earlier this week. (That latter review may be the only time the phrase “smoking some primo kef” has ever appeared in the pages of the Times, I suspect.)
