Amelia Gray Wins the New York Public Library’s 2016 Young Lions Fiction Award

Gutshot (GalleyCat)The New York Public Library has named Amelia Gray, the author behind Gutshot: Stories, the winner of the 2016 Young Lions Fiction Award. For her win, she will receive $10,000 in prize money.

FSG Originals published Gray’s short story collection back in April 2015. Some of the pieces featured in this book include “The Lark,” “Fifty Ways to Eat Your Lover,” and “Date Night.”

Here’s more from the press release: “The Young Lions Fiction Award is given annually to a writer age 35 or younger for either a novel or collection of short stories…Along with Gray, this year’s finalists included the following brilliant writers: Angela Flournoy, The Turner House, Alexandra Kleeman, You Too Can Have a Body Like Mine, Helen Phillips, The Beautiful Bureaucrat, Kirstin Valdez Quade, Night at the Fiestas.”
