Amazon has formed an exclusive deal with the Italian book retail chain Giunti al Punto. Giunti will sell Kindle eReaders in 170 bookstores by the end of the summer.
To promote device sales, Giunti customers will get five free Kindle books of their choice from the Giunti eBook catalog when they buy any Kindle eReader at a Giunti store through the end of the year.
Amazon is also planning to help the Italian book chain open an online book store which, will sell books, physical media and toys from Amazon.it. The online store will have a loyalty program that customers can use in Giunti al Punto’s physical stores.
