Amazon Reports 20% Increase in Net Sales

Net sales at Amazon increased 20 percent to $23.18 billion during the company’s financial the second quarter, as compared to $19.34 billion in Q2 2014.

The company also revealed that operating income was $464 million in the second quarter, when it released its Q2 earnings yesterday. According to the report, Amazon’s net income was $92 million in the second quarter compared with net loss of $126 million in Q2 2014.

During the quarter, Amazon introduced a new high-res Kindle Paperwhite with a new font and typesetting engine. In addition, the company expanded its Fire HD Kids Edition tablet to the U.K. and Germany, promoting digital books, videos, educational apps, and games in the region.
