Amazon Releases $50 Tablet Among New Line

Amazon is gearing up for the holiday season with the release of several new Kindle devices, as well as the latest version of the Kindle Fire OS.

The First Tablet, a $50 Kindle tablet, is among the new tablets that the company has introduced. The device features a quad-core processor, 7″ IPS display, front- and rear-facing cameras with up to 128GB of expandable storage. The new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 are higher quality tablets costing $150 and $230. The Fire Kids Edition is a new $149 tablet designed with kids in mind.

The tablets are powered by the newest version of Fire OS. Fire OS 5 “Bellini” includes hundreds of new and updated features including dedicated content pages for books, games and apps, video, music, audiobooks, and periodicals. In addition, the new operating system is integrated with the Bookerly reading font and Immersion Reading for audiobook. The update also brings more controls for parents.
