Amazon.com’s net sales increased 20 percent during 2015 to $107.0 billion, as compared to $89 billion in 2014. The company’s annual operating income reached $2.2 billion in 2015 up from an operating income of $178 million in 2014.

Net sales during the fourth quarter were up 22 percent to $35.7 billion over $29.3 billion Q4 2014. Operating income during Q4 increased 88 percent to $1.1 billion in Q4 up from $591 million in the fourth quarter of 2014.

“Twenty years ago, I was driving the packages to the post office myself and hoping we might one day afford a forklift. This year, we pass $100 billion in annual sales and serve 300 million customers,” stated Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com. “And still, measured by the dynamism we see everywhere in the marketplace and by the ever-expanding opportunities we see to invent on behalf of customers, it feels every bit like Day 1.”
