Amazon Names Seattle Most Well-Read City

amazon304Seattle is the most well-read city in America, according to Amazon.com.

The Seattle-based retailer determined this by measuring sales for all books, magazines and newspapers sales in both print and Kindle format from April 2014 to April 2015 on a per capita basis for cities with 500,000 residents. Charlotte, N.C. ranked No. 2 on the list and Portland, OR came in No. 3.

According to Amazon, Washington, D.C. residents prefer print books, and at No. 5 on the most well read list outranked Seattle for print sales. California had three cities on the list and Las Vegas lied the list with the most romance titles. We’ve got the entire list after the jump.
