Amazon has expanded its Coins virtual payment system to allow customers in the US,UK and Germany to buy, spend and earn Amazon Coins on Android phones and tablets.
The currency was previously available only on Kindle Fire tablets. Customers can use Amazon Coins to buy apps and to make in-app purchases directly from an Android device. While you can’t yet buy a book with virtual currency, there are a number of children’s learning apps, as well as a free eBooks app that are available for purchase through this new system. Customers can purchase these coins, and earn them in games.
To access Coins balances, customers need to update to the current version of the Amazon Appstore.
