Add Personalized Sounds & Pictures to Kids’ Storybooks

By Dianna Dilworth

JibJab Jr. Books, an app publisher that lets users add photos to its storybook apps, has added a new feature, sound. Users can add photos of their kids to digital storybooks, and now they include sound effects as well.

eBookNewser has more: “JibJab, which is better known for helping OfficeMax make its popular ‘ElfYourself’ campaign – a viral effort that lets people turn photos of themselves into animated elves got into the app book business this past September when the company launched a series of children’s book apps for the iPad. In a very cool DIY fashion, the app let parents add a photo of their child its template stories, so that the child can star in the story. Now, parents can also record a soundtrack to include in the JibJab Jr. stories as well.”

The sound element will work in all of the company’s story book apps, including two new holiday titles, Snow Much Fun and Saving Christmas. Find out more about digital storytelling tools at our Publishing App Expo December 7-8th.
