3 WordPress Tools To Put Your Book in Browsers

By Jason Boog

In a Tools of Change presentation yesterday, Oxford Media Works principal Kirk Biglione introduced a number of tools that publishers and writers can use to put a book online with WordPress–publishing your book in a browser.

UPDATE: Follow this link to see slides from the full presentation. As Apple and Amazon battle for control of apps, this option may become more attractive to indie creators. In addition, these tools will help your work find a home on the Internet and create a searchable online product.

1.  Bibliotype: A simple template system created by Craig Mod, helping convert long texts into easy reading HTML for tablet computers.

2. WptouchPro: A plug-in that will “deliver a mobile + iPad version of your website in a few clicks, with the feel of a native mobile app.”

3. Directory Plug-in: “an easy way to host a free directory page,” ideal for catalogs, customer lists, or other online directories connected to your book.
