As International Buy Indie Day passed last Friday, scores of GalleyCat readers helped support their favorite local bookshop.
As part of Marc Fitten’s campaign for his debut novel “Valeria’s Last Stand,” the novelist will do a little bit more–visiting 100 indie bookstores in one tour. Fitten has built a blog to record his adventures over the next few months.
In addition, GalleyCat reader Linda stopped by Storyopolis in Sherman Oaks, California. “[I bought] an adorable pic book: ‘Duck! Rabbit!’ Most fun $20 & 1/2hr I’ve spent in ages!” Reader Adrienne bought three books, “including Allen Ginsberg’s ‘Reality Sandwich’ and a DVD of the classic film Laura at the preview opening of the Friends Bookstore which supports the San Rafael Public Library).”
