YouTube Founder Reveals the Secret Future of Online Video

In honor of its 10th birthday, Google has recruited a variety of visionaries to write about the past decade and the upcoming one on its official blog. Yesterday, Chad Hurley, YouTube’s CEO and co-founder, sounded off about his vision for the future for online video. “In 10 years, we believe that online video broadcasting will be the most ubiquitous and accessible form of communication,” he writes.

Currently, 13 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute, a number Hurley believes will increase “exponentially,” in part because of his promise to make the “upload process as simple as placing a phone call.”
