WSJ Names Jerry Seib Exec Washington Editor, Chief Commentator

The Journal vet gets a new role.

The Wall Street Journal has named Jerry Seib executive Washington editor and chief commentator.

Seib has been with the Journal since 1977. He most recently serving as Washington bureau chief, a role he has held for the past six years. Seib will transition to his new role in January of next year.

“In this new role Jerry will continue to write the Capital Journal column, as well as broader commentary on US foreign policy and international relations,” wrote Journal editor Gerard Baker, in a note to staffers.
