WSEE Erie Update: Surprise, More Layoffs

Last month we heard that the entire tech staff of WSEE Erie (CBS) was laid off in preparation for the stations upcoming merger with WICU-TV (NBC).

Now we’ve learned that morning and noon anchor Raychel Vendetti and reporter Jen Mobilia were not offered positions at WICU, despite an April 18 statement from WICU general manager Brian Lilly saying that there would be no on-air staff changes.

Both on-air personalities are Erie natives who are stymied by the lack of broadcasting opportunities remaining in Erie; Mobilia told the Erie Times-News that she was looking into leaving the town.
