WPIX Celebrates 45th Anniversary of The Yule Log
A longstanding WPIX holiday tradition is back! For the 45th year, viewers will be greeted by the burning Yule Log Christmas morning.
The famous film loop of the crackling fireplace with a holiday soundtrack has been a Christmas staple on Channel 11 since 1966. This year it can be seen December 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In recent years, The Yule Log has been digitally re-mastered and fully restored, In 2001, the original film was color corrected and cleaned. Two years later, the Log was upgraded for the 21st Century with the first high definition broadcast.
