On the heels of his 79th birthday, Allen decides to go by anything but the TV industry book

Nevertheless, this is gigantic news, backlit by Transparent’s triumphant Golden Globes coming-out. From the release:

Untitled Woody Allen Project, a half-hour series, has received a full season order and episodes will be written and directed by Allen.
