WNYW/Channel 5 has hired veteran producer Byron Harmon as the new senior executive producer of the Fox 5 News at Ten.
Harmon, who begins at the East 67th Street studios tonight, most recently held the same title at CNN International. While there he oversaw productions in Atlanta, London, Abu Dhabi, and Hong Kong, broadcasting more than 19 live hours a day and reaching more than 220 million people worldwide.
Harmon is reunited with WNYW general manager Lew Leone and news director Dianne Doctor, both of whom were his bosses at WCBS/Channel 2. Harmon was an executive producer and 5 p.m. line producer at WCBS. Earlier in his career, he was a line producer at WNBC/Channel 4.
Harmon replaces David Hatcher.
