WNYC Reporter Honored with Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize

Ailsa Chang, a reporter for non-commercial News/Talk WNYC-AM and FM, wins the prestigious 2010 Daniel Schorr Journalism Prize.

The Poynter Institute reports Boston University and that city’s NPR affiliate announced Chang as this year’s recipient. She will be honored at a ceremony on Nov. 10.

The $5,000 prize is awarded to public radio journalists 35 years old and under.

Chang was selected for her investigative reporting of Detroit’s broken public defender system. Her piece aired on NPR’s award-winning newsmagazine, All Things Considered in 2009.
