WNBC/Channel 4 Brings Noon Newscast Back to Viewers

WNBC/Channel 4 is in Back to the Future mode lately. First, the station returned to its news roots at 5 p.m. in September. Now, WNBC is taking another step forward by bringing viewers a touch of the past– a noon newscast.

Shiba Russell and Tom Llamas, already showing instant on-air chemistry as the 5 p.m. anchors, have been tapped for the 30-minute midday report as well.

Russell confirmed the announcement on her Twitter page last night. She says it takes effect immediately.

Perhaps the best part of the noon news returning is that it brings down the curtain on The Rundown, a program masqueraded as a newscast.
