With Newspaper Guild And Newsweek Agreement In Place, Daily Beast Merger Is Imminent
The Newspaper Guild of New York and Newsweek have come to terms that will clear the last obstacle standing in the way of the impending Newsweek/Daily Beast merger. The guild and Newsweek have agreed that non-supervisory editorial employees of the Daily Beast will be provided with the same contract afforded to Newsweek’s editorial staffers. Newspaper Guild of New York president Bill O’ Meara sees the value in the Newsweek/Daily Beast union.
Newsweek’s Guild members are proud to be part of this exciting new venture that will combine the journalistic resources of a venerable news magazine and a cutting-edge news website in an editorial workplace in which all employees will have a voice.
