Wheatcroft Named WSJ European Editor-in-Chief

Yesterday, The Wall Street Journal announced the appointment of former Sunday Telegraph editor Patience Wheatcroft as editor-in-chief, Europe.

Starting next month, Wheatcroft will oversee the transition of the Journal‘s European office from Brussels to London. She is charged with overseeing The Wall Street Journal Europe, expanding its content across Europe and building up digital content.

Wheatcroft’s appointment is the latest in the Journal‘s European expansion. Earlier this year, the paper launched a dedicated European Web site, led by Neil McIntosh, and it promises to announce a new management team — which will be led by publisher Andrew Langhoff — soon.
