WGA, CBS Reach Agreement For Newswriters

The Writers Guilds of America and 500 national and local unionized CBS producers, editors, graphic artists and news writers who have been working under an contract that expired over two years ago have reached a tentative agreement with the network. In November, the unionized CBS employees had voted 81 % in favor of striking. Should the members ratify the new contract it will run until the first of April, 2010. From The Guilds press release:

”The Writers Guilds of America, East and West (WGAE and WGAW) and CBS have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract for the WGA-CBS employees who have been working under an expired contract since April 1, 2005.
