WCBS-AM Pulls President Obama Press Conference

The midterm elections proved to be a devastating loss for President Obama. He watched as the Republicans gained control of the House, and nearly took the Senate also.

Obama had to pick up the pieces, giving his “state of the union” this afternoon.

Most local outlets chose to carry the Obama news conference at 1 p.m., including WCBS 880.  But, WCBS decided to pull the plug halfway through. WCBS news director Tim Scheld tells FishbowlNY that the station will routinely drop out of long form coverage of news events depending upon what else is going on.

Specific to the president’s press conference today, Scheld says he felt comfortable getting back to regular programming after about 30 minutes.
