WaPo "Auditions" New Columnists

We don’t have to tell you that being a columnist for a newspaper, especially a behemoth like the Washington Post, is a huge coup in the journalism world. On some level it’s akin to scoring a gig as a rock star. So when everyone is fighting it out for the limited number of print writing jobs available, why not turn the interview process for such a prestigious position into a public competition (heaven knows papers could use the publicity)?
