Wal-Mart To Canadian Public: Oh, Dang, You Missed Her. We Swear, Linda Was Here Just a Second Ago!

A funny, weird little story from our neighbors to the north: “What Would Linda Buy?” in the Globe and Mail. It’s about Wal-Mart, as they build throughout Canada, and how they’ve developed a kind of person to think about as they design each store. “Linda” is her name and she’s “30 to 45 years old, has two or three children, a husband and a career. She’s a soccer mom who multitasks, and she’s time-starved.” This is certainly nothing new, creating for a composite character, but it’s always really weird reading about it.
