WABC Brings New Technology With Updated Helicopter
WABC is getting close to unveiling a new helicopter for coverage on its newscasts. The latest version of “Newscopter 7” will feature state-of-the-art technology.
The station has begun running promos showing the new chopper.
However, a Channel 7 spokesman says there’s no timetable for when it will be ready for air, as engineers are fine tuning the broadcast equipment.
One detail the WABC spokesman did pass along is the chopper is a Bell 407, “and that makes it the most powerful Newscopter 7 we have ever had.”
