Village Voice Lets Go Film Critic J. Hoberman

Film critic J. Hoberman was let go from The Village Voice yesterday after a near 30-year tenure in which he rose to senior film critic. The decision was naturally unsettling to Hoberman, but he told New York’s Daily Intel that it wasn’t a complete surprise because of the many changes and layoffs he witnessed at the paper.

“I would be disingenuous to say I hadn’t considered the possibility that this would happen to me eventually,” he said.
