Vernon Loeb Named Houston Chronicle Managing Editor

Vernon Loeb has been named managing editor of the Houston Chronicle, a Hearst Newspapers owned publication. Loeb comes to the paper from The Washington Post, where he most recently served as metro editor. Prior to his time at WaPo, Loeb served as deputy managing editor for news at The Philadelphia Inquirer, from 2007 to 2011.

“Vernon’s capacity for capturing local rhythms and conducting prize-winning investigative journalism will be an invaluable asset to the Houston Chronicle team and the communities the Chronicle serves,” said Hearst Newspapers president, Mark Aldam, in a statement.
