Vegetarian Times to Jack Up Its Rate Base

Looks like 2011 is shaping up to be a pretty good year for veggie news. El Segundo-based Vegetarian Times announced it plans to raise its rate base by 20% over the next few months. Rate base, for those on the editorial side of the equation, is the circulation rate publishers guarantee to advertisers. Vegetarian Times has already upped its rate base from 250,000 to 275,000 for its January 2011 issue. It plans to boost that number again to 300,000 by September.

The mag’s advertising pages have grown by 15% in the past two years.
