Fallen Benghazi Heroes Named U-T San Diego 'Persons of the Year'

A pair of San Diego residents who died in the September 11-12 terrorist attack on the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya have been named U-T San Diego‘s 2012 “Persons of the Year.”

Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods (pictured, l to r), both former Navy SEALs who became CIA contractors, were killed after hours of fighting and are credited with helping evacuate and save as many as 30 people. From the front-page New Year’s Day announcement:

Doherty’s family has no time for those who see the attack in a political context and who demand that heads roll in the Obama administration.
