Univision to Defend Gawker Staffers Who Get Sued

Gawker Media’s relationship with Univision started off rocky when Univision bosses deleted several Gawker posts, but a memo promising indemnity should help smooth things over.

Isaac Lee, Univision’s chief news, entertainment and digital officer, sent a note to Gawker Media staffers that promised Univision would defend them should they get sued.

“The Company covers the legal fees and judgments that are incurred by employees (if they are sued individually) for the journalism they produce for us within the scope of their duties,” read the memo, which was obtained by Politico.
