Unemployment Claims Jump During Past Week

Could lazy days of summer be one of the reasons why unemployment benefits applications bursted last week?  More like seasonal work which impacts numbers regarding unemployment.

Ass pointed out by USA Today, the Labor Department indicated apps increased by 34,000 to a total of 386,000. This surge reflected a reverse in numbers since the previous week there apparently was a big decrease.

Media industry aside, one reason could perhaps be pointed to the auto industry and adjusting claims as a result of their plants.

Experts indicate seasonal distortions are at play right now considering it’s summer and summertime workers alter figures so it may take a few weeks for things to shake out and be analyzed further.
