Travel Content Curator NileGuide Buys Networking Site Localyte

NileGuide, a website that endeavors to sift through readers’ preferences to provide them with optimal travel information, has bought Localyte, a social-media site of sorts that connects travelers with locals in their intended destinations.

Tnooz reports:

The assets acquired include the Localyte website, the community of Localytes contributors, the technology behind the destination recommendations and Localytes rewards, as well as the Localyte iPhone app, Pocket Sherpa.

NileGuide CEO Josh Steinitz told Tnooz that employees at Localyte face a 90-day trial period before NileGuide decides whether to keep them.
