Time Debuted 92 Years Ago Today [Updated]

The "weekly news-magazine" is aging quite nicely.

On March 3, 1923, Henry LuceBritton Hadden and a team of three full-time staffers produced the first issue of Time. It cost 15 cents.

Luce named the magazine Time because he noticed that Americans were busier than ever, and wanted them to be able to read the entire issue in under an hour. If Luce could see us all now.

Happy birthday, Time. You don’t look a day over 88.

Update (10:27 am):
Time has made the entire first issue — all 32 pages of it — available to read.
