The Week Taps Bloomberg BusinessWeek's Sibley for Publisher

Newsweekly The Week has hired Bloomberg BusinessWeek‘s Jessica Sibley as publisher, according to The Wall Street Journal. She starts June 28.

At Bloomberg BusinessWeek, Sibley was senior vice president and worldwide publisher for BusinessWeek, heading up the magazine’s sales operations. Before that, she worked at The Wall Street Journal as VP of multimedia sales for New York, New England and Europe.

Sibley replaces Jed Hartman, who left The Week in March for the newly created position of group publisher of Fortune and CNNMoney.com.

Says the Journal:

[T]his year, advertising revenue at The Week is expected to overtake subscription revenue for the first time, and the magazine was looking for someone with the “authority and seniority” to manage the large accounts it is now attracting, said Steven Kotok, president of The Week.
