The Texas Tribune published the results of its first six months of operation, and CEO Evan Smith is pretty thrilled.
Through last Tuesday, the site received “more than 5.3 million page views since our debut on November 3, 2009. Our databases are responsible for just over a third of those views — a big wow that validates our data-as-journalism strategy.”
The site also got 700,000 uniques, including 200k in March and 180k in April. Smith says their goal for monthly uniques by the end of 2010 was only 150,000. So if they can keep this up, they’re golden.
The Texas Tribune is a non-profit online outfit covering issues important to the Lone Star State. It employs more than 20 people…not bad for a six-month-young startup.
