The New York Times, Sports Illustrated Win Big at Deadline Awards

As we mentioned earlier, last night the Deadline Club’s (the city’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists) Deadline Awards were given out. The New York Times and Sports Illustrated both had reasons to celebrate afterward, because each organization took home top honors.

The Times won the Daniel Pearl Award for Investigative Reporting for its “The War Logs” feature, and the Public Service Award for the work of Alan Schwarz, who dug into sports concussions.

SI won awards for feature and science reporting, as well as two photography awards.

Another big winner of the night was The Associated Press, which won for spot news and enterprise reporting.

Congrats
