New York Times Magazine Selects Lauren Kern as New Deputy Editor

The New York Times Magazine’s new editor Hugo Lindgren did not waste much time in naming his second-in-command.  Just 11 days after his own hiring, Lindgren announced today that he has brought on Lauren Kern as deputy magazine editor.

Kern and Lindgren have some history as the two worked together at New York magazine for five years.  She was the editorial director at New York prior to leaving for the executive editor position at O: The Oprah Magazine this past September.
