The New York Times Honored with First Ever Digital Reporting duPont Award

The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism have announced the winners of the 2012 Alfred I. duPont Awards, and The New York Times is one of two organizations to receive the first ever duPont Award honoring digital reporting. The duPont’s are widely considered to be the broadcasting equivalent of the Pulitzers, so it’s quite an accomplishment.

The Times won based on a combination of two digital stories — a multimedia report about soldiers in Afghanistan, and a tale of two Haitian children dealing with treatment for severe wounds and their subsequent recovery.
