The New Republic Names Rachel Morris Managing Editor

Rachel Morris has been named managing editor of The New Republic.

Morris was formerly the articles editor at Mother Jones‘ Washington, D.C. bureau. She has also worked as editor of Washington Monthly and as an assistant editor at Legal Affairs.

Morris is succeeding Richard Just, who was named executive editor of The New Republic following the departure of Peter Scoblic, who became a senior policy adviser to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
