The Atlantic Launches New Online Photo Section
The Atlantic has launched a new, online extension of the wonderful photography featured in the magazine. The site’s previous photography blog, In Focus, has folded into The Atlantic Photo section, available at theatlantic.com/photo.
The section is led by senior editor Alan Taylor and features larger images and responsive design. For readers of In Focus, the update might be surprising, but Taylor says it was necessary.
“They [the changes to the site] give us a more flexible layout, allow for larger images, improve mobile access, and enable more frequent posting — all while preserving what readers have told us they love best about what I do: amazing photographs, attention to narrative, all images displayed on a single page, with simple navigation, including keyboard shortcuts,” wrote Taylor in a blog post.
