The Atlantic Adds Yoni Appelbaum, Promotes Sophie Gilbert
The Atlantic has hired Yoni Appelbaum as politics editor for TheAtlantic.com and promoted Sophie Gilbert to culture editor of the site.
Appelbaum is a social and cultural historian with a Ph.D. in American History from Brandeis University. He comes to The Atlantic from Harvard. Gilbert most recently served as a senior editor of The Atlantic.
In related news, David Graham and Spencer Kornhaber have both been promoted to staff writers.
