As Gawker’s numbers continue to shoot through the roof (the Palin email post currently has 758,000 hits, we’re waiting to hear back from the Gawker powers that be as to whether that’s a record) the Palin emails are also causing major waves in the MSM.
The AP is reporting that they were contacted by the Secret Service to ask for copies of the leaked emails. The AP did not comply. A measure, which we applaud, though it also begs the question does the Secret Service know how to use the Internet? Because if 758,000 people managed to find their way to Gawker to see screen grabs of said emails, why is the Secret Service approaching the AP?
