Sunset to Relocate to Oakland

Prepare yourself, citizens.

Sunset—the magazine—has a new home. In December, the Time Inc. brand will move to 55 Harrison Street in Oakland, California’s Jack London Square.

Sunset will occupy about 20,000 square feet on the second floor of the building. The offices will include a test kitchen and wine cellar.

The move was necessary. Late last year Time Inc. sold Sunset’s seven-acre campus in Menlo Park; the magazine’s home since 1951.

“Cities like Oakland are at the heart of some of the most exciting trends and innovations coming out of the West, and we’re thrilled to be where the action is,” said Peggy Northrop, Sunset’s editor in chief, in an announcement.
