Social Media Spending Rises But Competition For Marketing Jobs Becomes More Fierce, Survey Says

Marketers are increasing their spending on social media in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors, according to the CMO Survey from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.

In just a year, social media spending went from 3.5 percent of total marketing budgets to 5.9 percent, and the 500+ CMOs surveyed say that over the next twelve months, their social media spending will rise on average to 9.9 percent of their marketing budgets.
