Snowpocalypse Kills 90k+ Jobs, At Least Temporarily

Analysts estimate that 90,000 to 150,000 jobs could be lost—at least temporarily—because of the blizzards across the country. CNNMoney.com reports.

Not only can people who have jobs not get to them, but snowed-in jobhunters can’t make it to interviews, and those who have accepted positions can’t start them—meaning they’ll file for unemployment for another week.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics unemployment report, due out March 5, used the week of Feb. 8-12 to calculate payrolls—which means that the jobs report could be filled with gloomy numbers thanks to the record amounts of snow dumped on many parts of the country.
